Annotation:
Polysaccharides represent one of the most important groups of natural polymers. Their practical applicability and potential is practically unlimited. Cellulose ethers and esters are widely used in production of artificial silk, membranes, colorants, construction materials, etc. Well determined structure of amylose and cellulose and their derivatives makes them very useful for separation of enantiomers in liquid-phase techniques. Today various derivatives of amylose and cellulose are used for this purpose.
